El sacerdote y La Biblia; o porque os prohibe vuestro padre de almas leer la palabra de dios. Traducido del Frances

Gibraltar: Imprenta de la Biblioteca Militar, 1847. 8vo, pp. 15, [1]; original plain yellow paper front wrapper preserved, rear wrapper lacking; original stitching still intact but the whole has been removed from a binding. Printing did not begin at Gibraltar until 1801 when a press was established by the British military to print the first newspaper there, The Gibraltar Chronicle. In the early years the press was used for printing official military bulletins and conveying important news to the garrison, including the report on the Battle of Trafalgar in October 1805, including news of Admiral Nelson's death, which was printed as an "Extraordinaire" edition of the paper before the news arrived in England. The number of items printed at the press during its first 50 years is remarkably small. Exclusive of the daily newspaper, the number seems to be fewer than 100. Not in NUC or OCLC. Item #14458

Price: $350.00
