First Canadian edition, small 8vo, pp. [6], 341, [1], [4] Belford ads; original brick red pebble-grain cloth stamped in gilt and black on upper cover and spine; cloth cracked along joints, spine a little darkened; all else very good and sound. A piracy, "almost a line for line copy of the London edition," likely issued October 6, 1876, two months prior to the American edition, but after the London edition which had appeared June 16.
