Jean Taisnier (1508-1562) was a musician, mathematician and astrologer. His greatest work was his Opus Mathematicum octo libros complectens (1562), an astrological work, much of which is devoted to the interpretation of the lines and aspects of the palm for divination and prognostications, and much collected from various sources. As published by Clousier a century later, this became known as one of the best treatises on palmistry of the 17th century. Item #18876
