Chicago and New York: Rand, McNally & Company, 1893. First edition, 8vo, 527pp., numerous illustrations throughout the text; previous owner's rubberstamps on title page and endpapers, else a very good, sound copy in original decorative blue cloth stamped in silver and gilt. Glazier explored the headwaters of the Mississippi in 1881, and claims the discovery of the true source of the Mississippi lying immediately to the south of Lake Itasca, a small lake which he humbly named Lake Glazier. The photographic illustrations in this volume, by F. J. Trost, are purportedly the first such illustrations of the Mississippi headwaters. Item #19229
