Salem: Wm. Ives & Geo. W. Pease [from the Proceedings of the Essex Institute], 1856. 8vo, pp. 16; association copy, with a presentation on the title from Roberts to Wm. H. Whitman, publisher of the Genealogical Register, and a 2 p. 4to ALS (Salem, Aug., 1856) to Whitman from Roberts tipped to front endpaper, on the orthography of the Cradock name, the great service Cradock did giving Endicott and Winthrop charge of the Plymouth colony, and other genealogical and biographical data; at the back of the volume, and before bulk blank pages, is the separately printed 4-p. "Death of Matthew Cradock … The first Governor of the Massachusetts Company." There are a couple of corrections in the printed text in ink, presumably by Roberts, and two or three pertinent newspaper clippings pasted in on the filler pages; good or better in contemporary half tan calf over marbled boards.
