Daylesford, PA: A.Edward Newton, 1919. First edition, 12mo, pp. [2], 10; inserted color frontispiece and inserted facsimile; original blue printed wrappers, stitched, as issued; very good. Stevenson's earliest literary creation, recited at the age of six to his mother, who wrote it down, as part of a contest between him, his brothers and cousins, to write the best history of Moses. The frontispiece (The Israelites going out of Egypt) is from a watercolor by Stevenson done at the same time. This copy is inscribed by A. Edward Newton to Mr. Geo. B.
