Philadelphia: published by the author, 1822. 8vo, pp. [4] ads and errata, viii, [9]-491, [17] index; 12 engraved maps (1 folding and partially split); contemporary green morocco-backed marbled boards, gilt lettering direct on spine, yellow edges; text toned throughout, extremities rubbed and worn, top of spine cracked; a good copy. The book was intended to accompany Melish's map of the United States. Plate list calls for 14 maps but two were never issued. Howes M-490; Sabin 47431. Item #31824
