First edition, small 8vo, pp. 510 , plus 19-page publisher's illustrated catalogue; frontispiece illustration and a profusion of facsimile title-pages and illustrations throughout the text; original dark teal cloth, bright pictorial gilt stamped and lettered front cover and spine; the spine ends chipped away and torn, 1/4" dent at lower edge of front and back covers, some light wear and a few scrapes, the whole a bit shaken, but still good and sound.
