With the bookplate of the Gordon Lester Ford collection, presented to the N.Y.P.L. by his sons Worthington Chauncey Ford, and Paul Leicester Ford; subsequent bookplate of Edward Chenery Gale. The Journal extends from Sept. 1696 to Feb. 1723. It is followed (p. 358-412) by a "Mémoire destiné á faire connaitre l'importance de la colonie de la Louisiane, et la necessité d'en continuer l'etablissement," signed 'Bernard de La Harpe.' Sabin 38631; Joumonville 720; Howes L-24: "Chief authority for the period covered, 1698-1723; it and the Memoires of de Marigny serve as sequels to Joutel's Journal.
