[Montreal: 1923.]. First edition, 8vo, pp. 32; original brown printed wrappers; very good. Robert Goltman was Principal at Goltman’s Business College, Montreal, as well as the official stenographer and formerly Instructor in shorthand and typewriting, McGill University. As Goltman appears to have been stationed for many years in Montreal, Quebec, this work likely reflects Anglophonic tendencies within the most prominently Francophonic province of Canada in the first quarter of the last century. Cover title: “Goltman’s Up-to-date Speller and Definitions.” No copies of this book in any edition are located in OCLC. COPAC finds only one copy at the BL, and there is another at Montreal’s Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec. Item #45397
