New York: [Morris & Willis], 1843. All 26 issues comprising Vol. I bound in one volume, large 8vo, pp. 416; 18 (of 26) steel engraved plates by J. G. Chapman; original half black calf over cloth, brown gilt morocco spine labels (both partially perished); ex-Hill Library with usual markings, bottom fifth of front free endpaper torn away, one plate with old tape-repair on verso, uneven foxing and dampstaining depending on the issue, lower hinge separated, else interior good and sound. Includes works by George Pope Morris (signed GPM) and Nathaniel Parker Willis (signed NPW). Also includes at least 7 translations from the original French by "EP," attributed to both Edgar Allan Poe or Emily Percival.
