Large 8vo, pp. [810], [269]; text in double column throughout and printed in Karen characters throughout; title page in English with a Karen subtitle; separate title in English with a Karen subtitle for the N.T. (dated 1867 - sixth edition); full contemporary calf, neatly but not aesthetically rebacked in brown cloth, computer-generated paper labels on spine. The second leaf of both parts have been excised. A good, sound copy. Cordier, Indosinica, 156; Darlow & Moule 5917: "In 1863 the B.F.B.S., in response to an application for aid in publishing another edition of the Bible, granted the sum of 500£ to the Burma Bible and Tract Society, to be used for this purpose, provided that in so doing the rules of the B.F.B.S. were not contravened." The B.F.B.S. copy is imperfect, wanting all of the N.T. Item #47949
