Paris: Perrotin, 1832. 8vo, pp. viii, 396; 12 plates; half red calf over marbled boards, spine in 5 compartments with gilt and blind stamped designs, black leather spine label with title in gilt; light foxing throughout, corners bumped, joints lightly rubbed. Barthelemy was a satirical poet who supported the revolution but was thought to have turned coat around 1832, when, in the face of withheld government pension, he stopped all satirical writing and began to write material sympathetic to the current regime.
