Item #48998 Rules and regulations of the Bristol Constitutional Club. Bristol Constitutional Club.

Rules and regulations of the Bristol Constitutional Club

Bristol: T. D. Taylor, Sons and Hawkins, "Times and Mirror Office" 1900. Small 8vo, pp. 31, [1]; original blue printed wrappers; vertical crease else near fine. A rather informative pamphlet as to the conservative politics of the West Country in the late 19th century. Includes an 8-page list of members. We have found no copy of any book concerning this right-wing Bristol society, though, interestingly, there was an earlier and much shorter version apparently known to Hyett and Bazeley, The Bibliographer’s Manual of Gloucestershire Literature: Being a Classified Catalogue of Books, Pamphlets, Broadsides, and Other Printed Matter Relating to the County of Gloucester or to the City of Bristol, with Descriptive and Explanatory Notes by Francis Adams Hyett and the Rev. William Bazeley, Vol. III (Gloucester, 1895), p. 213 where they cite Rules and Regulations of the Bristol Constitutional Club [ca. 1885], with only 16 pages. Not found in OCLC, COPAC, not NUC.
