Nineteenth-century ownership signatures of E. Evans, Pembroke College, Oxon, likely Evan Evans, Master of Pembroke 1864-78, and later Vice Chancellor, 1878-82. Later bookplate of E. P. Hedley. The book was also issued in a larger demy folio format. It "was awarded the Silver Medals of the Select Society of Edinburgh in 1756 and 1757" (Gaskell, citing Murray). One of the most accurate and typographically splendid editions of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey in the original Greek.
