Report on the construction of a military road from Fort Walla Walla to Fort Benton
Washington: G.P.O., 1863. Large 8vo, pp. 363, [3]; 10 lithograph plates (all but 1 tinted), plus 4 large folding maps (all bound in upside down); original diaper-patterned green cloth, gilt lettering on spine quite faded, else a very good copy. Ex-Northern Pacific Railway Co. with 2 small rubberstamps on the flyleaf and a small accession label at the lower corner of the upper cover, but no other markings. Laid in is an 1880 G.P.O.-published bifolium headed "Northern Pacific Railroad" being the printed text of a letter from Mullan to Senator L. F.
