Memphis: 1852. Folio, on integral leaves, previous folds with some splitting, else very good. A petition set in front of the Common Law and Chancery Court of Memphis concerning the payment for a slave named Bill whose original cost was $500, $200 of which appears to have been guaranteed by a promissory note from a third party. The petitioner seeks the $200 payment. Docketed on the verso of the integral leaf. Item #50519
