First edition, 8vo, pp. 302, [2]; original blue cloth, gilt title direct on spine, top edge stained blue (rubbed); boards rubbed and bumped, textblock a bit cocked, light spotting mostly to first and last few leaves, good. Inscribed by "Miles" to Douglas and George Steven on upper paste down. A futuristic war novel anticipating the invasion and occupation of Great Britain. Also, on the front free endpaper is the name in pencil, "Neil Bell," another of Southwold's pseudonyms. Item #52438
