Paris: Ioann Libert, 1621. 24mo (approx. 4½" x 3"); pp. 383, [1]; contemporary full vellum, ties perished; manuscript titling on spine (rather faded) and an old library sticker removed from the base of the spine; Connecticut Theological Institute blindstamp on title page, previous owner's names crossed out at the top of the title page. Solinus was the author of De mirabilibus mundi ('The Wonders of the World') which circulated both under the title Collectanea rerum memorabilium ('Collection of Curiosities'), and Polyhistor. It is a description of curiosities and contains a short description of the ancient world, with remarks on historical, social, religious and natural history questions. The greater part is taken from Pliny's Natural History and the geography of Pomponius Mela. Four copies in OCLC, none in the Western Hemisphere, and none in the U.K. Item #54489
