Coventry drew from his experience of cholera outbreaks in New York and Canada to prescribe treatment and instruct on diagnosis. As he was working prior to germ theory, he attributes the cause to unclean atmosphere and suggests bloodletting, a variety of concoctions and the maintaining of a clean atmosphere as treatment.
