New York: Robert M. De Witt, [1858?]. 12mo, pp. 407, [7]; 8 engraved plates, including frontispiece; original green cloth, gilt title on spine; light wear to boards, text clean and sound, very good. Inscribed by the author to a Mrs. Clark on title page. The first edition was published in 1855 by De Witt and Davenport. De Witt bought Davenport out of his half of the business a year later and republished the title, likely in 1858 considering the titles in the ads in back. Item #54526
