The seaman's spy-glass; or, God's ways and works discovered at sea

[Philadelphia]: published by "the Religious Tract Society of Philadelphia," and sold at their depository, no. 8, South Front-Street. Wm. Bradford, agent, 1819. First American edition, 12mo, pp. 12; removed from binding; wrappers perished; light foxing; very good. Early ownership inscription at the top of the first leaf, "Miss Hunkle." A British edition was published the same year ostensibly written by "a clergyman of the Church of England, formerly a lieutenant in the Royal Navy." In any event, religious allegory under various headings "The new launched ship," "The good commodore," "Navigating the ship," and, "The fair-weather and fresh-water sailors," among others.
