Measures slightly less than 3" tall and slightly less than 2" wide; pp. 8; without wrappers, likely as issued; 9 small woodcuts, 7 of them of quadrupeds, each with an epigram and an instructional alphabet. Perhaps a present handed out over the counter by a retailer to mothers and children. Baker, Crane & Day were publishing at 158 & 374 Pearl Street from 1845 to 1847. Not found in OCLC. Item #55408
