Boston: published by Moore and Sevey, 1832. First complete edition, 8vo, pp. [4], 32, [1]; original printed yellow wrappers; the last 8 leaves with a short tear at the top gutter not touching any letterpress; wraps a bit soiled and with some damp; a good copy. Inscribed "Thomas Grey Jun. M.D. with the respects of the author." From the advertisement leaf: "This poem was pronounced at the installation of the officers of the Boston Encampment of Knights Templars, February 28, 1832, and was published at their request. This edition is, with very few exceptions, a reprint of the first. The Notes are added at the suggestion of friends." Thomas Power (1786-1868) is better known as a songwriter whose many lyrics appeared regularly in 19th-century sheet music. American Imprints 14345; Sabin 64778. Item #55595
