The Northern Light was a non-partisan general interest newspaper established as a platform for discourse. It covered economy, politics, agriculture, science, and literature. Included are some letters of debate between Noah Webster and Salem Town, and between Horace Greely and Gerrit Smith, a plate depicting Monticello with description, notices of new publications, and so on.
