Philadelphia and New York: Bradford and Inskeep, 1809. 8vo, pp. 552, consisting of the Prospectus for The Port Folio, and vol. 1, no. 1 - no. 6; 6 engraved plates, one folding; contemporary half sheep over boards, 2 morocco labels on spine, edges stained yellow; lower board nearly detached, upper joint starting, spine worn; lacking the first leaf of no. 2 and final index leaf, one plate split at platemark, good. The Port Folio was established in 1801 and readjusted its focus away from the political and towards travel, literature, and science in 1809. The prospectus outlines the changes. Item #55796
