Edition limited to 489 copies, 2 vols., 8vo, title pages printed in red, blue and black, portrait frontispiece in vol. 2, engraved certificate of issue on japan vellum and 4 facsimiles of Thoreau's writing inserted (1 folding); three-quarter maroon calf over gray paper-covered boards (BAL's binding A), gilt lettering direct on spine, publisher's slipcases (rubbed and a little worn), light foxing, top of one spine slightly cracked and rthe spines lightly rubbed and sunned; all else very good.
