A review of a report of a committee of the American Medical Association on the permanent cure of reducible hernia or rupture
Boston: William Chadwick, 1853. First edition, 8vo, pp. 31, [1]; original printed brown wrappers, vertical fold, text clean and sound, near fine. Heaton's career was focused primarily on the treatment of hernias. The American Medical Association solicited information on his method but he declined to provide it, resulting in the Association implying unprofessional behavior from him in their report on the subject. This pamphlet is Heaton's response. He insists on the efficacy of his method and promises to provide information on it in a later paper, which he appears to have done in 1877. Item #56757
