Manuscript sabbath school notebook July 12 - October 18 1868

1868. Manuscript notebook, 7.5 x 6.25"; pp. [28] disbound and in loose sheets; a couple leaves excised and a few with juvenile scribblings, the text ends abruptly on the final leaf; neat pen and pencil summaries of weekly Sabbath lessons at Wesley Chapel, possibly in Urbana, MD. Topics include the skepticism of the Jews, Miriam, warnings against worldly ambition, Isaac, and so on. Occasionally entries are skipped with the note "Lessons omitted, absent and distant." One page has a list of names that is not easy to discern, and a modern note has the name Kelly Adams on it, but we could discern no marks of authorship. Whoever it was they appear to have been a dutiful student (with the occasional lapse), but were not inclined to elaborate on the lecture that they were receiving. Item #56985
