[Providence, RI: privately printed, 1882]. Small 4to, pp. 12; contemporary half green calf over marbled boards; covers loose, spine perished, last leaf loose, shallow chips on fore-edge, pages brittle, fair and rare. A privately printed reminisence of the family horse, Madge, whom the author credits with carrying his then future wife into his life. It is attributed to John. C. Pegram of Providence. He served in the Union Navy during the Civil War, and after had a career as a lawyer. Brown only in OCLC, with a note that only 12 copies were printed. Item #57246
