Dix; early owner's signature on upper cover, very good. Included is an essay by Whitman titled "A Dialogue," which argued against the death penalty. Also includes an article on Malthusian Theory and Spanish ballads translated by Edward Maturin. Whitman was a frequent contributor to the Review, but outside of a self-authored review of his Leaves of Grass the is the only non-fiction offering of his to that publication. Item #57827
