Various places and dates, as below. 1. From Jacob Dearbin, Parsonfield, (Maine) September 1, 1849. Approx. 8" x 7". Dearbin writes to Russell in 1849 that he will come with his team to pick up his shipment of boards as soon as his health is better and the roads are repaired. 2. From Nelson Merrill, Gorham (Maine) February 16, 1850. Approx. 9½" x 7½". Merrill writes in 1850 that he sends presents of dresses for the girls and hopes to hear from him soon. 3. From Thomas Russell (probably Albany, New Hampshire). April 17, 1851. Approx. 7¼" x 7¾". Thomas Russell, Amzi's father, discusses deals between them to buy and sell pine shingles and clapboards and adds that he wants him to "keep my catt well and use him all you can." Previous folds, in ink, and legible. Amzi Russell (1810-1879) was the son of Thomas and Ruth (Harriman) Russell. He was born in Carroll County, New Hampshire, married Eliza Morse George, and had five daughters. Item #57859
