Impressum Edinburgi: [Maitland Club], 1839. Thick 4to, pp. [10], xxi, [3], 540, xliv; original glazed blue paper-covered boards, printed paper label on spine; light wear at the edges, the boards slightly scratched, rear joint barely cracked; a very good, sound copy. The edition size was likely small; 80 names are listed in the subscriber's list. "A general history of the affairs of England and Scotland, 1201-1346, attributed to the monks of Lanercost, but probably by a Minorite of Carlisle. (See the Preface, by Joseph Stevenson). Includes Latin text, followed by Rubrics, Notes, Illustrative documents and Index. OCLC indicates an added vignette title page, not present here. What is present is a leaf noting that the book is presented to the Maitland Club by Archibald Campbell of Blythswood. On the half-title of this copy is an inscription, seemingly from Campbell, "To Blanche A. G. Swinton from A.C." Item #58657
