Small 12mo, pp. xv, [1], 170, [6] ads; insercted engraved frontispiece and title page, vignette title page, numerous fine wood engravings in the text; original purple moiré cloth, black paper label lettered in gilt on spine; spine faded to brown, cracks at the top and bottom of spine, the bining slightly skewed; all else very good. A charming volume of natural history for children.An inscription on the front pastedown reads: "Harry Cotton from Miss Jesse Lloyd May 16th 1835."
