K. Browne (Phiz), John Gilbert, Tony Johannot, John Franklin, plus wood engravings in the text by W. Alfred Delamotte, and others; lightly scuffed, but generally a very good, sound set containing the original illustrations as they first appeared in Ainsworth's novels. With the bookplates of H. W. Kearns, Baxenden House, Accrington. Likely a reprint of the 1876 Collected Works in 16 volumes. Other collected editions appeared in 1878-80 (31 volumes), and 1923 (12 volumes).
