With an inscription on the flyleaf: "To Andreas from Mamma. March 23, 10/56. Presented to her son in law Andreas Hartel by Mrs. Samuel R. Warrington 'The best of Mothers of her sons and daughters'." Samuel R. Warrington (1824-1887) was a Philadelphia silversmith and watchmaker. Hartel married Warrington's daughter Elizabeth.
