Portions of Morris' Socialist Diary had been published previously, but this is the first complete text, and is accompanied by a preface by Boos. According to the colophon an English edition of 200 copies was to be published simultaneously, but there is no record of those copies ever having been distributed. Berger, Printing and the Mind of Merker, 76: Because of the problems the printer had with the William Morris Society, only the 200 Windhover copies were bound and issued ...
