Hato Rey, Puerto Rico: Ramallo Bros. Printing, Inc., n.d. 8vo, pp. 151, [1]; illustrated throughout and printed in red and black; original pictorial wrappers; a few minor blemishes but generally a very good copy. Buesa (1910-1982) was one of the most popular Cuban poets of his day. He was exiled from Cuba in 1964 and went to Mexico for five years before moving to the Dominican Republic where he stayed until his death. This title was originally published in Cuba in 1959 and was reprinted sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The poems are illustrated with pink-tinted photographs of provocatively dressed, 60s-era women. Laid in is a flyer for a dinner honoring the poet, dated Friday December 13, 1974. This copy inscribed by Buesa (presumably on the occasion of the dinner) on the title page: "A Nancy, Cordialmente, Jose Angel Buesa" and there is a love poem addressed to Nancy (by her boyfriend, not Buesa, on the verso of the title page, also dated 1974. All text in Spanish. Item #63399
