Cupid’s annual charter; or, St. Valentine’s festival, in which all true lovers have free leave to declare their sentiments for each other

London: published by W. Perks, 21, St. Martin’s Lane, n.d., [ca. 1807]. Only edition? 12mo, pp. 24; hand-colored frontispiece; original blue printed paper wrappers; light soiling to wrappers, edges curled, spine split at ends, unopened; very good. Printed by Geroge Smeeton at 139 St. Martin's Lane. Thirteen records in OCLC and no agreed-upon date, with 1798 being the earliest and 1830 being the latest; if there's a dated copy out there I'd like to know. The only plausible date is 1807 based on a watermark in the Harvard copy. The watermark in our copy is on the frontispiece only, but without a date. Every record shows Perks as the publisher, and no other printers other than Smeeton are cited. One record notes that the frontispiece is designed by Isaac Cruikshank. Item #66625
