Banquet in honor of the President of the United States William Howard Taft by the Citizens of Minneapolis at the Auditorium Saturday September 18th 1909

Minneapolis: 1909. Approx. 8" x 6", containing six engraved leaves consisting of a pictorial title page, a full-page photo-engraved portrait of President Taft, a menu bearing the flags of the United States, Minnesota, and Minneapols; a leaf of toasts bearing the seal of the United States and the Capitol in Washington, D.C.; and two leaves of Committees. Bound in full gray suede by Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co., Philadelphia, silk moir. Laid in is an engraved invitation to the event. The invitation and banquet book belonged to Frederick J. Wulling the first Dean, and for many years the primary instructor, of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, as attested to by his son, the printer Emerson Wulling of the Sumac Press on a Sumac Press envelope in which it is contained. Taft was sworn in in March 1909 and this banquet is one of several that year in various parts of the country. Item #69467
