Signed on flyleaf by Donnelly with a real portrait photograph tipped in. While working in Shanghai as a shipping agent Donnelly developed an interest and then expertise in native Chinese ships. He was also an accomplished nautical artist, and his books feature his paintings and ink sketches of various water craft in action. Item #70238
