Six of Horace's satires for modern readers. Charles Loomis Dana (1852-1935) was an American physician, professor of nervous and mental disease at Cornell Medical College. His brother John Cotton (1856-1929) was an American library and museum director, and the first librarian at the Denver Public Library where he pioneered the first-ever collection devoted to children's literature.
