The Modern Woodmen of America are a fraternal benefit society founded in 1883. It's primary business is in the providing of life insurance to its members, but it also employed all the usual trappings of the fraternal society, including regalia, rituals, lodges and membership ranking, etc. The society catalog provided for those social elements of the society. It includes illustrated listings for uniforms, robes, insignia, lodge furniture and rite equipment, stationery, sciopticon projectors and ritual slides, costumes, masks and plays to be performed by the membership, banners, badges and emblems, and so on and so forth.
