Fifth printing, 12mo, pp. 61, [3]; frontispiece portrait with stamped "signature" and an attempt at copying one character in pen; printed yellow boards; upper hinge starting near fine. Gin Chow was a Chinese born resident of California, made famous for predicting the weather, including that the summer of 1931 would be the hottest summer for many years, and that the 1931-32 season would be an extremely wet one. His weather prognostication earned him the title the Seer of Lompoc and made him a minor celebrity. His predictions were published regularly in the Los Angeles Times. Item #73131
