Large 8vo, xvi & 765pp., text in double column; some browning, but generally a good copy in contemporary 1/4 brown calf over marbled boards, scuffed. An alphabetical index of some 6500 operas, with the year of its first production, a synopsis of plot, and often with the name of the actors in leading roles. Four supplements also appeared (not included here), the last in 1881. Larousse, its co-author, was the general editor of the Grand dictionnaire universel. Item #9502
